What Credit Score Is Needed for A VA Home Loan?

summitlr •

The Department of Veterans Affairs doesn’t set a minimum credit score, but the lenders do have requirements. Although there may be some wiggle room on credit scores, VA loan applicants generally need to have a credit score of between 580-620 to be approved. Speak with a VA approved lender to find out what credit score you’ll need, when weighing your other eligibility criteria.
